If you're worried about the verification of your Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC), don't worry, the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has launched a 'Verification History' feature on its PakID mobile application to provide better service.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Nadra stated: "To protect your personal information, it is important for you to be aware of when and by whom your identity information was verified.
"Take advantage of the "Verification History" feature in the PakID mobile app and get complete information about when and where your identity card was verified," added the authority.
Citizens can now easily apply for CNIC from comfort of their own home without standing in long queues and waiting for their turn at Nadra centres.
Last month, Nadra announced that citizens can now easily register for their CNIC without the birth certificate. The authority said: "Nadra provides facility to make identity card without birth certificate. Males over the age of 24 who have not obtained an identity card and whose father or mother and one of their sisters or brothers have an identity card or a National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) should come with their father or mother who has an identity card."
The parents' names, date of birth, and place of birth will be recorded on the identity card according to the information you provided and will not be changed for life. Nadra has set discount on birth certificates until December 31, 2026.
