The Shehbaz Sharif-led government on Saturday raised the price of petroleum products by up to Rs8 per litre on the recommendation of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

It is worth noting that the new petrol prices will take effect from March 1, 2026, to March 15, 2026.

Petrol is primarily used for private transportation, small vehicles, rickshaws, and two-wheelers. The increase in prices will significantly impact the budgets of middle- and lower-middle-class households.

In addition, the higher cost of high-speed diesel directly contributes to rising prices of vegetables and other essential food items.
