Samsung has officially announced that the Galaxy S26 will get Perplexity AI assistant as part of broader strategy that opens Galaxy AI to multiple AI agents, giving users more options when interacting with their devices.
The South Korean tech giant, in a blog post, said that users will now be able to invoke Perplexity on the new devices with the activation phrase “Hey Plex” or activate it via physical quick-access buttons.
What to expect from Perplexity AI's 'Hey Plex' assistant on Galaxy S26?
Galaxy S26 users can activate Perplexity by saying "Hey Plex", which allows to establish direct links with essential Samsung applications such as include Notes and Calendar and Gallery and Clock and Reminders, which will facilitate users in completing their tasks through multiple applications without facing any issue or lag.
“We’ve been committed to building an open and inclusive integrated AI ecosystem that gives users more choice, flexibility and control to get complex tasks done quickly and easily,” said Won-Joon Choi, President, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of the R&D Office, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “Galaxy AI acts as an orchestrator, bringing together different forms of AI into a single, natural, cohesive experience.”
"Deeply embedded across select Samsung apps — including Samsung Notes, Clock, Gallery, Reminder and Calendar, as well as select third-party apps — Perplexity’s AI agent enables smoother, multi-step workflows, allowing users to move seamlessly between tasks without manually managing individual apps," said Samsung.
Samsung has plans to support select third-party apps; however, it has not named specific ones. In addition to Perplexity, S26 users will also have access to Samsung’s revamped Bixby assistant as well as Google’s Gemini.
Users will get further details on the Perplexity AI integration and Samsung’s vision of a multi-agent ecosystem at the Galaxy Unpacked event 2026 on February 25. The company is highly anticipated to bring Galaxy S26 series, along with other advancements.
