Pakistan's automobile industry is seeing a evolvement, with electric vehicles (EVs) moving from niche to mainstream, hybrids challenging diesel dominance, and local assembly expanding, 2026 is shaping up to be a landmark year for car buyers.
Expected cars to launch in Pakistan
It should be noted that not all vehicles mentioned here are fully confirmed; but Pakistanis can consider this a preview of what’s likely to launch in 2026.
Chery Tiggo 7, 8, and 9 (ICE and PHEV)
Chery is preparing to double down with Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) variants and is expected to launch ICE engine variants. The Tiggo 9 is the main model here; a massive 7-seater luxury SUV projected to undercut the Kia Sorento while offering triple the tech.
Omoda C7 and Jaecoo J5
It is important to note that Omoda and Jaecoo are sub companies of Chery. The expected Omoda C7 will bring futuristic styling, while the Jaecoo J5 is a compact hybrid designed to take on the Haval Jolion.
Omoda C7 and Jaecoo J5 comes with 1.5L Turbo engine, which will give drivers a smooth driving experience.
Deepal K50 Hunter
Deepal is highly anticipated to launch its pickup truck, the K50 Hunter, which is a Range Extended EV (REEV). The engine only acts as a generator, giving you the torque of an EV with the range of a petrol car.
Poer Cannon Alpha PHEV
Under the local assembly of Sazgar Engineering, the Poer Cannon is likely to become the most advanced pickup truck on the roads of Pakistan. Specifically, the 'Cannon Alpha' variant is expected to debut with a petrol hybrid powertrain.
Hyundai Palisade (2026 Next-Gen)
Targetting the elite class in Pakistan, this three-row flagship is moving even closer to Range Rover levels of comfort and presence.
With the recent trends in automotive industry, Hyundai Pakistan is expected to launch the Palisade’s hybrid variant, since the Tucson and Elantra were also launched as hybrids.
