Sony has officially confirmed the release date for its most awaited Marvel’s Wolverine, which is set ahead of GTA 6 launch, scheduled for September 15, 2026.
As per official announcements from Sony and Insomniac Games, the title will exclusively launch on PlayStation 5, roughly two months ahead of GTA 6, which is set to launch on November 19, 2026. “In this original story, Wolverine is on the hunt to uncover the secrets of a dark past that keeps eluding him.
“His search for answers will send him on perilous excursions to exotic locales, including the island nation of Madripoor, the frosted wilderness of Canada and the narrow city streets of Tokyo – all potential battlegrounds for fierce, bloody, destructive action,” according to the game’s PlayStation Store listing.
What is Marvel’s Wolverine about?
Marvel's Wolverine follows Wolverine as the character searches for answers about his past in the game. The journey takes him around different locations, including Madripoor, parts of Canada, and Tokyo. The narrative is described as darker in tone, with a focus on intense combat.
The title's gameplay appears to centre around close-range combat, with Wolverine’s claws playing a major role, which will provide you a great gaming experience before you get to see the launch of GTA 6 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
It is important to remember that Marvel's Wolverine is not the only Marvel-themed game Sony is working on, as the company is also developing Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, which is set to launch on August 6, 2026 ahead of GTA 6 release.
